Who Instead of What

When we were young
We often were asked
What do you want to be
When you grow up?
And then we tried
Through schooling
And roll play
To learn how to become
What we said.
How much better it would have been
If we had been asked
Who instead of what
With an explanation of
What who means;
For character is the center
Of who we become
No matter what job we have.
How much better
The world would be
If we worked on who
Instead of what.

He is Calling

Life is filled
With ups and downs
Sunny smiles
And cloudy frowns

But no matter the weather
Life’s season brings
The truth of Jesus
Always rings

Calling us home
To rest in his care
Answering in his own way
Our every prayer

For he listens and watches
Over us all
And if you quietly listen
You’ll hear him call

Each one of us by name
To follow him

The Bouncing Knights of Naughtiness

Bouncing knights of naughtiness
Bounce blue and then bounce green
And everywhere these bunnies bounce
They fly a submarine

They fly it in the sky so high
Then paint it white as snow
With giant leaping bunny hops
They paint it just for show

Then hide it in some puffy clouds
And drive their submarine
Over thistle, thorn and mountain tops
While eating tourmaline

And if you see these bunny knights
Bouncing to and fro
Eating stone and butterscotch
Be sure to say “Hello”

A Little Too Disney

One of the things
I have never understood;
With so much pain
Trauma
And
Disappointment
In life,
Why would anyone
Watch a program,
A TV show
Or
A movie
That does not
Lift them up
And make them
Feel better
Rather than
Haunt their dreams
And make them
Despair
Depressed
Or
Dejected
....
Perhaps
I’m a little too
Disney.

Eating Along

Eating alone
You can try
New things
Or have
Something
Familiar.
Either way
It doesn't matter
There none one there
To judge you.

SDLC

Flag it
Tag it
Make it
Break it

Time to document
So don’t be flatulent

Create your metric
Always hectic

Then review it
Now we queue it

Test it
Messed it
Rewrite the
Rest of it

Missed it
Pissed it
Don’t deep
Six it

Don’t you know
It’s time to go

Production!
Production!
We don’t need
Your Obstruction!

What’s the SLA for this thing?

Food Parade

A parade of food
Passes me by
I look at my self
And there’s no question why

I’m so large
So big and round
Because of this paradise
That I have found

Flavors and textures
Caress me inside
Like a long lost lover
Seeking to hide

A little too close by….
Just one more plate if you please.

Muddy Town

Another day of joy
As the rain pours down
The sun will shine another day
Upon this muddy town

Muddy streets to walk on
And muddy pools of brown
Spotting up the landscape
Within this muddy town

Muddy splatters on the walls
Of buildings large and small
Windows streaked with muddy smears
Is nothing to enthrall

And as the rain is falling down
In plodding drips and drops
On streets and homes and parking lots
On muddy parks and shops

Till all the world
Is muddy brown
The poor sad fate
Of muddy town

Socks

A world of people
A world of socks
Both are things in need

Both need a match
Need each other
In order to succeed

A lonely sock
Is a sorrowful thing

One foot is warm
The other one stings

Where is the match?
Gone far away

To wonder the world
To our dismay

People are like socks
Though many look similar
No two are quite the same

Yet for every sock a match is made
When one goes missing
It’s truly a shame

Princess Bling

Princess Bling
You make me sing
With a chorus of angles above

Princess Bling
You’ve got that thing
Brightness, sparkle and love
