Hector

Hector was a bully
He wasn’t very nice
He took his school mates money
His heart was hard as ice

Then one day Hector found out
What it was to be the under dog
A bigger bully came to town
And Hector he did flog

Hector was ashamed
And Hector was sad
Hector finally realized
That what he’d done was bad

So Hector changed his ways
And went from bad to good
And protected his classmates
Any way that he could

Now Hector’s a policeman
A job with low pay and small glory
To serve and protects
And know you know the rest of this story

Hubris

That man was full of hubris
His pride was out of line
Arrogant and self serving
While drinking lots of wine

A cigar in his left hand
A crystal goblet in his right
Speaking only good about himself
And others with loathing and spite

How did he get so way up high
Squashing those below
Was from a single little lie
For with he made great show

So now he sits with cronies a-plenty
Telling them what to do
How to live and how to be
Building his lie anew

Denial

Her denial was a mere rejection
A repudiation of her emotion
Abandonment and contradiction
Life in slow motion
And yet it was getting away

Children

A gift
A toy
Fills children with joy
They giggle
They laugh
But that's not the half
Warm their hearts
And teach them to share
Show them great love
So they know that you care
And they will grow
Strong and good
And do good deeds
As all people should

A Good Way To Be

Happy thoughs
And cheerful ways
Makes life a joy
With pleasant days

City of Dreams

What am I doing
Now that I'm here
How did I get
To a place so dear

Where we wonder streets
With little fear
And all is right
For you are near

Those little shops
On streets of dreams
And pleasant cafes
Your smile gleams

Those places lit
With golden beams
This happy place
And so it seems

As stars come out
To fill the sky
There's little cause
To question why

Perspective

Perspective
Perspective
And interesting frame of mind

Perspective
Perspective
Sometimes not easy to find

To keep perspective
Throughout your life
And have perspective
Through pain and strife

Perspective in good time
Perspective in bad
Perspective when happy
Perspective when mad

Perspective
Perspective
And interesting frame of mind

Perspective
Perspective
Sometimes not easy to find

Just Ask For a Bit of Help

We are all so fallible
It is just how we’re made
No matter how capable
We can always use aid

So whether mountains or mole hills
Stand in our way
The best course of action
Is to get down and pray

For the Lord is our strength
Even for the strong
And no matter the endeavor
You can never go wrong

By just asking for a bit of help
From God

Toadie Town

Waves of dreams
Assault my mind
Time for sleep
I seldom find

So in the waking hours drift
These thoughts and dreams
That I must sift
Through all these things

To find My place
In here and now
In fields of dreams
That I must plow

And limber rats pack
Their bags so full
Of pieces of realityThat they can barely pull

My mind awash
With all these things
My head a-gush
With Lima beans

That taste like paste
Both mashed and not
And served with beer
That's piping hot

So we bury them deep
Beneath the ground
And pile on more
To build a mound

And a city sprouts
With marble roads
And buildings green
And filled with toads

They great me then
And smiles beam
They take me to places
Seldom seen

The under lake
The over hill
The dew drop bridge
The power mill

And high green towers
The sway in the wind
And many good toads
And one good friend

And the lilies are all laced
With silver and gold
And old men tell stories
As in days of old

And soon sets the sun
And warm sunlight ends
And the inn is the places
Where my good toadie spends

All of his evenings
Over beer at the bar
Listening to bards
Who've traveled quite far

And their song seem to say
That we're already asleep
Curled up in bed
Without counting sheep

Salvation at Sea

The sea commoved
By the fury of the wind
The sailors now prayed
Each knew he had sinned

Agaist God and man
And each other as well
The ship bobbed along
With each mountainous swell

Would this be their fate
This watery death
The cried as they prayed
With each sobbing wet breath

Some men had children
Waiting at home
They prayed that they'd see them
Through the waves and wet foam

And some men had mothers
Whom alone they would tend
They prayed to the lord
That the storm just might end

And the captain prayed too
Harder than all
For the lives of his men
So they all could stand tall

Then out in the distance
They heard a loud horn
A light in the darkness
And new hope was born

For they all knew that light
That saved them that day
Was their old trusty lighthouse
That looked over their bay

With a quick change of course
They headed for home
Through the darkness of night
And the eye of the storm

We're The Same

Affirmative acton
To reverse discrimination
A lofty goal to reach

Though sometime its like
reverse discrimination
Something that some will preach

Rather we should have
Kindness and compassion
To lift up each other and teach

that we're really the same
Dispite our affliation
We're God's chosen children each

Mercurial

Mercurial as the wind
Chaning with every beat
Her charming smile so demure
Though she wasn't always discrete

Here one day
Then gone the next
Another heart
She always would vex

Till one day she found
Through no fault of her own
Some one to keep her
From being alone

For though she had live
Her mercurial ways
She had alway been searching
As though in a craze

For the one who would love her
And make things all right
Who'd sit in the darkness
And hold her tight

And forever they stayed
together, of course
Hand in hand
Without remorse

True lovers

Her smile demure
Her eyes so sweet
To be with her always
Is such a treat

For bath timeand bed time
Are always such fun
True lovers together
Are never undone
