The Song of the Ancient Trees

Ancient trees
Stretch towards the sky
Here in a land
Where mysteries lie

And elder trees
Block out the light
Making the ground
Eternal twilight

But all things change
Wes, even here
In this ancient land
That seems so dear

Billowing clouds
Of grey and black
Thunder! Lightening!
They sound the attack

Stones of hail
Fill the air
Crushing down
Whatever’s there

And wind does howl
A mournful sound
Toppling trees
So big and round

Then lightning’s flash
A blinding light
With rolling thunder
The trees ignite

Flames leap up
Against the sky
Fanned by wind
They spiral high

Turning the world
Bright flaming red
Leaving smoldering black
While fires spread

With thunder’s peal
And roaring flames
And howling winds
That no one tames

And grey rain falls
On this world turned red
Leaving mud soaked soot
Looking dark and dead

Now blackened earth
Where once stood green
Smoking remains
Is all that is seen

Then years pass by
And up sprouts new
Here in the land
Where ancients grew

And centuries pass by
And new grows old
And ancient again
Where mysteries unfold

Wondrous Words from Whindolynn

Oh wondrous words from Whindolynn
Harmonious yet humorous to hear
Soothing sentences of substance sustain
Delightful dialogue so dear

Too Busy

Busy busy busy
There’s always more to do

My list just keeps on growing
I never will get through

Documents and projects
Seem to fill up my life

I’ve almost forgotten
I have a home with kids and wife

But someday I’ll get through it all
And wonder what to do

I’ll have to get some hobbies
And try out something new

Taking Time

Taking time
For my mind to clear
From all these fires we fight

Take time
To see what’s dear
So that all I do is right

To reflect upon the days gone by
They go so very fast

To reflect upon the plans I made
The future that’s become my past

Taking time
A life to scan
The good and bad to weigh

Taking time
To think and plan
And figure our my way

I Need a Word

I know it sounds quite absurd
But I really really need a word
A word to write
A word to say
And on my writing pages play
A word the works
A word that’s fun
A word to sing
And then will run
I know that it may absurd
But I really really need a word

A Warm Summer Evening

Hanging flowers
Buzzing bees
Cheerful birds
Summer breeze

The Drive for Power

Power's an illusion
And often a delusion

To choose our own fate
They often debate

But Their wisdom wears thin
As soon as they begin

For their quest is for power
And soon they will devour

All that stands in their way
