Rain falls
Streaking gray all around

Making a pit-pattering sound

Wind blows
Trees sway to and fro

The rushing sounds go

Lighting strikes
Brightens the deepening gloom

Making a thunderous boom

Quieter and quieter
Things come to a still
Quieter and quieter
The air starts to chill

Hail falls down
A hard white poise
Hail falls down
With a crackling noise

And then it starts again
The storm rages on

I sit and watch, withdrawn
