Friends to the End

Friendship lasts
And knows no bounds
For all the good it has done

With friendships past
And future found
A long woven tapestry is spun

That gives meaning to life
And warmth to the soul
And help when times are tough

Relieving strife
In many a role
Making life less rough

And the joy it brings
On happy days
That we wish would never end

And the love that sings
In many strange ways
For all the togethers we spend

And when our days are near
The very end
And our light has grown quite dim

May those who are dear
Come to spend

On how our lives would tether
