Compassion

So much compassion
Seems to be gone
In this world we live

Each person’s ration
Ignoring the wrong
Seeking to take, not give

How much better
A place this would be
If only compassion would rule

Ignoring the letter
But holding the spirit
And not using law as a tool

Look all around
And see those in need
And seek to serve others than you

And see what you found
Selfless joy indeed
Becoming one of a greater few
