Voices of my Selves

There are many selves
That live in my mind
Some are cruel
And some are kind

Some are wise
And listen with care
And some are fools
And make me despair

Some are wild
And some full of fun
Some are scared
And would have me just run

But all of these selves
That live within me
Help me to live
Help me to be

They give me advice
And tell me what’s so
They say what to do
And where I should go

And they give me ideas
And show me new things
Some take me away
And help me grow wings

And take me to worlds
That would never exist
Except for these friends
For they can assist

And play out the parts
Of all those I meet
In this world that’s not here
Yet still stands complete
