A Long Night’s Talk
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
As we dance throughout the night
With words of such delight
To give one’s spirit flight
And make thing feel all right
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
As we talk from dusk to dawn
Hiding our sleep full yawn
Taking topics as they’re drawn
And yet they’re never gone
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
And so it seems to go
We’re talking to and fro
Learning things we didn’t know
Our smiles all aglow
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
But soon the sun will rise
And to stay longer is quite unwise
We rub out sleepy eyes
And say our night’s good byes
Thank you for tarrying with me, my friend
Thank you for tarrying with me
Tarry a little more
As we dance throughout the night
With words of such delight
To give one’s spirit flight
And make thing feel all right
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
As we talk from dusk to dawn
Hiding our sleep full yawn
Taking topics as they’re drawn
And yet they’re never gone
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
And so it seems to go
We’re talking to and fro
Learning things we didn’t know
Our smiles all aglow
Tarry a little more, my friend
Tarry a little more
But soon the sun will rise
And to stay longer is quite unwise
We rub out sleepy eyes
And say our night’s good byes
Thank you for tarrying with me, my friend
Thank you for tarrying with me
